The collection is inspired by café racer culture, riffing off of motorcycle style. Hence biker jacket can be seen repeated, in variety of color combination, pleasing and harmony. Lim explained, pointing to a denim jumpsuit sewn all over with those same colorful, custom-made patches, and more––bird face crests, the letters P and L, and graphic chevron-feather motifs. “The character is on a journey, collecting things.” And, it maybe goes without saying, she’s expressing herself through her style.

Christian Dior Fall 2013 show place is totally beyond expectation, Simons is a well-known player in contemporary art. Now he turns Dior house show atmosphere into art space. Models walking on the cloud, reflected images as double by giant silver spheres. Warhol echoed in the silvered spheres suspended in the room (like the artist’s iconic “clouds”) and the Laurie Anderson soundtrack that reflected his anomic public persona, but as striking and memorable as this window dressing was, the collection is ultimately about the relationship between Simons and Dior.
Simons use Andy Warhol’s early drawing as a recurring art on the collection. However, Warhol’d spidery shoe drawings’ are embroidered on shoes and bags. Peplums are fully grown in volume, symbolized of women. Those Warhol’s inspired in this collection called “memory dressed”, real dresses walking from scrapbook! At all, Simons never lose the signature of Dior but bring them up to another level. All those Andy Warhol’s fans, art fans, Dior die hard fans let have a look to this fab collection! *Please slow down your steps, luxury brand always indulge its exquisite details! ( Yes, I turn them all into GIF images, again and enjoy!)
A amazing collection by Tomas Maier, fabric was treated in different way. Fabric was washed, bonded, felted it to create print! Totally new texture that never seen before. Even straw was felted on fabric as embellishment. The story hasn’t end yet… However, the brilliant designer has some really big in his mind, or I should said that’s huge. Maier combined skill from plain to un-plain. Cut and drape, sculpted to create volume! Whole collection is wearable, every single detail is defined in low profile. That’s never exaggerate to tell this is a luxury streetwear that never scream.
Look at the recreated texture embellished on a simple cut shift dress!
drape and shape!
Amazing detail felted on fabric, yes, using straw.
