When we say style, it means the look from head to toe that represents individual appearance. Head, the top part of of whole body, so can you realize how important hairstyle to everyone of us? A bad hair day might definitely ruin your mood yet an awesome hairstyle makes you confident, agree?
MHA ( Malaysia Hairdressing Association) was glittering evening of high fashion and stylish hair gala with themed When Fashion Meets Art: Hall of Fame at Shangri-la Grand Ballroom, to celebrate the achievements of national hairdressing scene over past past year. Hall of Fame was presented in five parts by prominent Malaysian hairstylists Winnie Loo, Alex Wong, Alex Lim, Miko Au and Lois Lee.
Winnie Loo of A Cut Above
The first show was my favor of the night. Avant garde inspired yet elegant high street hairstyle in Bill Keith couture collection, perfect enjoyment in Vitas famous song Opera! The show wasn’t presented in ordinary catwalk. It was started with setting props of cocktail drinks on table at the center of the stage, few models chit chat casually, in another way few models walked elegantly in the high street…It perfectly portrayed the upper class society ladies social lifestyle.
Second part of Winnie’s show, golden door named Door of Fame was set, the entrance where stars were created. I kinda love that kind of metaphor!
Very beautiful Miss Universe Malaysia 2013 Carey Ng catwalk for the show.
Group pic of Winnie Loo with her team of A Cut Above, and also the famous songbird Crystal Lee.
Crystal Lee’s performance Someone Like You was the prologue of Winnie’s hair show.
Alex Wong of Alex Wong Hair Salon
This collection was named Beauty and The Beast. Those headgears were pretty amazingly made!
Alex Lim of La’ Mode Coiffure
Alex Lim not only a great hairstylist but surprisingly can sing well!
His remarkable dramatic performance on stage with amount of hair spray was captured.
The finale was full with the scent of hairspray too, even from my second row.
Miko Au of Miko Au Hair Studio
Another highlight of the night who win a loud applause. Overall collection was so street and rock!
Finale Tini was the highlight of the show, everybody screams on her masculine beauty.
I see only ONE style in this group pic, very praiseworthy and that’s is a collection meant for, unity.
This collection took the perfect balance of reality and show-quality, where all hairstyles were ready for outing if you dare. And yes, I dare! :)
A round big applause for Miko and his awesome team.
Lois Lee of Lois Lee Salon
Legendary Lois Lee’s collection was about red black and white, highly appreciation because all garments were made of recycle items.
I would love to thanks A Cut Above hair styling sponsorship for the gala night.
